Smart Consultation has been designed primarily for clinicians and data entry personnel involved in summarising patient records; "Struggling to find the right Read code is now a thing of the past!". With Smart Consultation the consultation details maybe entered immediately, then either opt to search for a Read code using all or part of your typed consultation text. 
Alternatively use the conclusion area as it has many different ways using specific characters to track down the exact Read code with little effort. 
Smart Consultation not only finds Read codes easily, it will also alert the user when selecting QOF codes, practice preferred or both, helping towards QOF and IM&T DES requirements. Practice messages can also be assigned to each Read code, to inform the user of further information when selecting this code, displayed at the bottom of the form on a red background. A warning prompt may also be assigned if required. Default practice priority numbers can also be easily assigned to each Read code, when recording medical history entries, additionally a clear practice message may also be displayed explaining the use of the practice priority system. Problem books may be created with no user input as they will automatically be created and use the Read code that you selected to record the history. Practices' may create a quick list of default recall/follow read codes that can be easily selected from a drop down list, to maintain consistency when searching for patients' due for follow-up visits.

QOF codes are managed and updated automatically by the program as and when new Dataset & Business rules become available, using our Smart update feature. There are 2 ways to record the data back to Vision, either directly to the database or using macros. When entering data directly to the database it will not be displayed until the consultation is closed and re-opened as each patient record is locked while a consultation is open, however Smart Consultation retains the recorded data for you to view until you have finished. Using macros will record the data there and then directly into the patient record as if you had done it yourself, but in a blink of an eye. Use which ever method suits your personal needs. Currently Smart Consultation can only be run in a local server environment due to a Microsoft OLE DB Provider for Visual FoxPro (VfpOleDB.dll) which needs to be registered to access Visual FoxPro databases and tables in Vision. Therefore until further notice practices' on remote server solutions (VES, WES, Bureau, CCA, etc..) will not be able to run this application as INPS do not currently register this Microsoft VfpOleDB.dll file by default. Practices' that manage their own server may use Smart Consultation. |
